How old were you when you started snowboarding? I started skiing at the age of 2 and switched over to snowboarding at the age of 7.
What got you started? Snowboarding was pretty new back then and it was the new cool thing to do it seemed like. It looks way more fun than skiing and Travis Rice was definitely a big inspiration on what got me started as well.
What is your favorite thing about it? Being able to be as creative as possible whether it's creating your own style or just doing what feels best for yourself.
Who/what pushes you the most in your riding? My own personality seems to push me the most. I always want to do something better than I ever have before. I look up to many pros who have a unique style and that pushes me as well.
Where is your favorite place to ride? Out of all the places I've been to, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort has access to the best terrain there is. It seems like it will never get old.
Have you always trained off the mountain to improve your skills? I've done a lot of dryland training right before a season starts as well as gymnastics but I've never had the opportunity to train with trainers at this kind of level. So stoked to see the difference.
What advice would you give others when it comes to training for snowboarding? Keep focused on exactly what you want to do and never lose track of why you started snowboarding in the first place.
Have you had any major injuries? I have had many different kinds of injuries like knees, ankles, wrists, and shoulders. The main injury that I'm still trying to get over is the head injuries I've had. They seem to never stop happening and I need to get mentally stronger to get over that hurdle.
How did you overcome them? Tons of therapy and doctor visits. I'm still working on getting over this last head injury. I think the key is to try to be positive, work hard, and really listen to your body.
What is WYPY? That's a great question, haha. We honestly haven't figured it out yet. We make snowboard edits that are on snowboarder magazine all winter long. It's all the Wyoming homies just shredding and having a good time no matter what. It's some sort of gang or something.
What is the most memorable moment snowboarding has given you? Being able to travel to amazing places, I keep meeting so many awesome people, and to have the opportunities that I've been fortunate enough to have.
In your opinion, what is the biggest benefit of time in the gym for snowboarding? The biggest benefit for me would be being able to get mental and physical confidence going into a season. Feeling strong and thinking strong
