At Wright Training, we try to implement a decent amount of stretching into the daily workouts because stretching is just as important as strength training. Many of us who live in Teton Valley are on the go – we love to play outside in the mountains- that’s why we live here! We hike, bike, run, climb, ski, snowboard or ski tour and we are as active as our bodies will allow. In doing all this activity our bodies get tight, especially in our hip flexors, and if we dont take the time to stretch and lengthen our muscles, we could become less adept at our favorite activities, have less efficient workouts, or even get injured.
Some especially important stretches are hip openers because most of us have chronically tight hips causing issues with our low backs, weak abdominals, and short hamstrings. Do any of these stretches when you’re at home, sitting in front of the tv, reading, or are just looking for a reason to roll around on the floor!
