Summer is in full swing and the weather in Jackson is swinging to extremes. Above average temps one week and then above average moisture the next with cooler temps. At least the gym work is somewhat constant.
Workout for Base Fitness class on Wednesday @ 7:30am will be a combination of strength and work capacity.
Start off with a warmup of lower body and a touch of upper to get the muscles ready. Basic movements that require no weights.
First up, back squats followed by explosive power broad jumps. Make sure to increase the back squat weight a hard but doable weight.
Next, Every minute on the minute complete 10 alternating lunges followed by 2 suicide sprints. Get ready for some heavy breathing.
Final block is an upper body and core session with 5 rounds of 20 seconds of work and twenty seconds of rest for each exercise.
The hamstring and hip strengthening circuit at the end of session will further add to your overall summer fitness base.
