Last week, I became the first woman to land a backflip into Corbet’s Couloir. That still feels weird to say!
One of the first things to come into my mind after landing was how many people I had to thank for helping me achieve this goal. At the forefront of the long list of people I need to thank is, of course, the Wright Training team. I know my strength played a huge part in me being able to land that air, and I could not have gotten there without the high level of training available at Wright Training. I’ve been going to this gym since I moved out to Jackson five years ago and they’ve been helping me improve my fitness ever since. As many of you know, the Ski Fit program is intense. But what I quickly found out, is to be at the level I wanted to, I couldn’t just cram my fitness training into the fall right before the winter. I had to be committed to staying strong year-round. Because of all the training, I felt confident in my skiing as soon as the winter started, which allowed me to start preparing for the competition sooner. And ultimately, it helped me finally stomp the landing!
So, thank you Wright Training!
