Ski & Snowboard Fitness At Wright Training
Ski and snowboard fitness is focused on getting you strong for the winter season. This class focuses on injury prevention, power and performance. The class is catered to your individualized needs. No person is exactly the same, we will easily modify if needed for injuries. I highly recommend this class if you are coming back from any type of knee injury. 50 percent of ACL injuries can be prevented through strength training. This is the 10th year that Wright Training has taught Ski/Snowboard fitness, we continue to learn and change the program to help make you ski/snowboard strong and confident from day one!
It is a great feeling to be confident and strong your first day out skiing, snowboarding or the first day you hike the pass or ski tour. This class will progress over the 8 weeks. We will focus on core strength, balance and agility. Eccentric training will be a big part of the course as well, we will progress with body weight exercises that train the legs and cardio for downhill movements. When we are skiing or snowboarding we are in a continual dynamic squat and it is important for injury prevention and performance to train specifics. There will be a Ski Mountaineering option again this year for people who wish to build more endurance for the uphill part of skiing or nordic skiing! This will focus less on agility and more on stamina!
