As summer comes to an end, everyone in Jackson starts looking ahead to the winter. Skiers and Snowboarders all over town start to get excited and giddy, but after a long summer of not skiing from 9 to 4 every day, it can be nerve-wracking to wonder how your body will hold up this year. For me, participating in the Ski Fit program is the best way I’ve found to guarantee that I don’t lose any progress that I made the previous year. In addition to growing my physical strength, the program helps me mentally too — I gain a lot more confidence going into the season when I feel fully prepared.
One of my favorite things about the classes is the camaraderie we build throughout the program. Last year I made some great friends during Ski Fit. We were all cheering each other on during every workout, and we ended up all skiing together throughout the season!
But the most important reason I participate in Ski Fit every year is for the injury prevention aspects of the workouts. Basically, I love skiing so much, that I do everything I can to make sure I won’t ever have to miss a winter season. For me, the decision on whether or not to do Ski Fit is an easy one: being injured is always a downer, so why not prepare a little, so you can go out and have fun every day during the winter? I’ve been fortunate enough to not have any major injuries here in Jackson, and I attribute a lot of that to the strength I built at Wright Training, especially during the Ski Fit program.
