Q: how long have you been with Wright Training? And how often do you visit?
Almost 2 1/2 years. I’m pretty consistent at twice a week; Tuesdays and Thursday afternoons.
Q: What was your original reasons for working with us?
Matt Redwine and I work together at the Fire Department and he kept talking it up and inviting me to try it out. At the end of one particularly tough day at work, I said ‘Why not?’, and I was hooked on the first visit after meeting Crystal and the group of guys.
Q: Are there any physical instabilities you now feel are solid due to your commitment to training?
About 10 years ago I was in a significant accident that resulted in several injuries, a couple knee surgeries and a long recovery period. I struggled with my fitness (and age) for a few years following the accident. Since joining the gym and training consistently, I have much better stability, a strong core and improved balance.
Q: What’s your favorite thing about WT?
The encouragement of the coaches and the camaraderie of our regular group of guys (The “Shaggy Wolves” as Crystal has named us) who challenge and encourage each other to keep showing up and staying fit. I need the accountability and I appreciate being pushed to work much harder than I would on my own.
Q: Do you feel like working with us has helped you in your work environment?
Absolutely. My job involves a fair bit of office time that is sporadically interrupted by the need to respond to an emergent incident that could be physically and mentally demanding. Remaining fit helps me be able to make a quick transition and minimize the potential for injury.
Q: Any big adventures planned in the future, that will test your physical ability?
Nope, just want to stay fit and healthy. My job and work with TCSAR provide me with plenty of adventure.
Q: What else should we know about you? Any fun hidden talents, skills, or fun facts.
I’ve been married to my wonderful wife Lisa for 31 years and we have three amazing daughters who I miss terribly now that they are all out on their own.
Awesome! Thanks Mike, we love that your part of the WT crew!
