With the help of Wright Training and my sister Brigid, I ran and completed the Paris Marathon last April. It was a wild and memorable experience to run through the streets of one of the most beautiful cities in the world as the people of France cheered you on, in French (no translation necessary). Starting on the Champs-Elysees’s cobble stone streets, passing the Eiffel Tower a major mile stone, and finishing at the Arc De Triomphe were a few moments I will never forget as a tourist, a sister, and as a runner.
(This is what was happening in my head when I saw and then ran by the Eiffel tower) !
The completion of the race in Paris brings me to the start of another race, the Boston Marathon. My time qualified me for the Boston Marathon and it will be run this year on April 21, 2014. I have been training with Wright Training for the last year and I am excited to see how my legs will preform on Patriot’s day in Boston. It is anticipated to be an even bigger event than last year! I am ready to show the people of Boston what I have been working on. With the help of Crystal and her marathon focused training program, I have been concentrating on strength to help improve my endurance. They say the course of the Boston Marathon can be a nasty one and I look forward to testing myself. I mean, can “ Heart Break Hill” really be worse than sandbag get ups or ankles to bar?
I’ll let you know how it all runs out . . .
Hannah completed the Boston Marathon on Monday, April 21st. More on her story to come!… Stay tuned!
