Ambassador Spotlight: Veronica Paulsen – SkiFit

November 28, 2018Blog, Ski Fitness

Hello everyone!

Congrats to everyone who just finished the ski fit program at Wright Training! I thought I was in good shape before starting ski fit, but I cannot emphasize enough how much stronger I feel at the end of the program! And don’t just take my word for it— through ski fit we did strength and plyometric testing so we could have tangible results on how much stronger and quicker we became.

For example, in ski fit there is a circuit called the “Quadzilla” (yes, it is as painful as it sounds), and through the program we worked up to over double our initial repetitions in this circuit. Not only that, but the numbers I had on the exercises that we tested the first day of ski fit had shot up significantly by the end.

Last season after my first time attending ski fit, I felt completely ready to shred on day one! Skipping the usual aches and pains that come with the first week of skiing each season. I also felt a huge difference in being able to ski bell to bell everyday. I spent almost everyday doing tram laps, and skipping lunch breaks to go hiking all over the mountain, all until catching the last gondola ride of the day. The year before last it was extremely hard for me to keep up this level of exertion throughout the entire winter. So now that I am starting the season on an even better foot than last time, I am excited to see what this will mean for my stamina on the mountain.

I can’t wait to test out my new strength on the mountain and see how many more tram laps I can do this year!
